Red alert for tomato shortage

By Reham Al-Farra

A tomato shortage in ASDA over the six last weeks is affecting millions of customers who do their shopping with one of the UK's biggest food stores.

An ASDA Customer Service Assistant in the Lansdowne store, who asked to withhold her name, said: "A virus has affected our main supplier of tomatoes, which is in the Canary Islands, a Spanish territory off the coast of Africa."
